DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (D. El. Ed / B. T. C)

Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) is a two-year full-time diploma program to train candidates to become able teachers for the primary school level i.e. from Class I to VIII. The design of the course includes practical training and internships along with classroom training. It includes principles of child development, education practice, and the role of the teacher in grooming the students.

The D. El. Ed qualification is now mandatory for all candidates willing to teach in the primary level schools after the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2017 was passed by the Indian Parliament.

Employment Opportunities

On completing the D. El. Ed programme, candidates can apply for jobs as a junior teacher for primary level in private schools, government schools, nursery, day care centres, coaching centres and can also become online educator or private tutor. They can also take up jobs as a content writer and/or reviewer librarian, record keeper, education counsellor for primary level school students.
